NURSE STATION
School Nurse - M. Lemen, RN
In the time it takes you to read this information, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) will have claimed another victim. Statistics show that over 300,000 Americans die of SCA every year. Up to 50,000 of these deaths could have been prevented if someone on scene had initiated the Cardiac Chain of Survival and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) had been available for immediate use at the time of the emergency. Each minute defibrillation is delayed, the victim’s chance of survival decreases by 10%.
Immanuel Lutheran Church and School Wentzville is pleased to announce that we have purchased an AED for our facility through the American Red Cross. The unit is operational and ready for use. It is located in the hallway near the elevator. We have annual Red Cross CPR/AED training with our school staff and feel we are prepared in the event of an emergency. There are many of our school and church family who are also certified and we want you to be familiar with our unit and its location.
Thank you for your willingness to be prepared to save a life when called upon!
